It is not wrong-- they will definitely give you your free coffee, but certain people will look down upon it. They have these promotions to drag more customers into the store and hope they can buy other things that will make up for it. For the few that don't buy more, it should make them more likely to come back some other time. So, they won't hate you, but if you were to be nice and buy two apple pies or something for a dollar along with the free coffee, you could avoid a possible negative reputation.

I'm sure plenty of people will go just for it.

They want you to come in for the coffee in hope that you will buy some other items at full price.

I don't know the full details of this specific promotion but if you are entitled to a free coffee without having to purchase any other goods then go for it.

McDonalds do that to let customers come and order the free coffee. They do that so when they get it, they'll want to buy something else so McDonalds gets at least some money.

I dont think its wrong, they said free coffee

No because i do that all the time

Nope, there's not fine print saying you can't. They're offering free coffee, they expect to give free coffee. They're hoping you'll buy something else while you're there but you're not breaking the rules. Kudos for your concern though :)

I would go for it...and have, they don't seem to mind

Yes. And why would you go out of your way to go to McDonald's for anything FREE . Because your cheap! Plus it's annoying to the people who work there. They give you a free cup of coffe as a curtousy to try with your PAID FOR meal.

No if they have a promo you can just go and take advantage of the promo, they do not want you to but it is fine people like you are in the factor when they come up with the promo ..

No it is not wrong. If McDonalds is offering free coffee, then go for it! We want your business, and I will freely profess that I hope that when customers come in to get something free, they will purchase something else as well...or will continue to return to my store. But free is free. :-] Go and enjoy it!
