Coffee Clatter – Random Thoughts

Lacking the link — Danielle, I forgot to respond to the missing link. About my poetry book, the publisher went out of business, and it was print on demand. I probably should republish somewhere else, but I’m not sure I still have that manuscript. I’ll be looking for it on my hard drives at home.

My daughter has decided I don’t sleep at all. I actually slept almost 5 hours last night. Oris, how many hours do you spend horizontal. My bed starts complaining about my presence after about 5 hours on a regular basis. Fortunately, it gives me a good solid kick in the backside after about 6 hours, or I’d probably just lie there, lifeless and brooding over the rotten treatment I get from my office chair.

Fox news is on this morning… Not sure I’m watching it, so much as ‘hearing’ it. Arizona’s new immigration law (which is already a federal law and has been for like EONS) appears to be at the forefront. Did you know it’s inhumane to ask illegal immigrants for their paperwork? WHAT?

And women who show cleavage cause earthquakes. Perhaps it is not the women, but more likely the resulting behavior of men j-ing off who cause earthquakes?

Obama tossed the police under the bus with the new comments about the law… He says if you take your kids out for ice cream and get pulled over for a traffic violation, it’s not right if the officer asks to see your “paperwork” — er… uh… does that mean we don’t have to show our driver license or our proof of insurance cards? Obama says that’s police harassment.

Gee, I wonder — if you’re a citizen of the US and don’t carry citizenship papers, will they pick you up? Or is the Driver License enough to prove your identity?

I sometimes have a van full of people…

Election Process – Petition v. Caucus

Like many others around the country, I’ve been participating in the Caucus and Assembly process that elects candidates through the Primary Election onto the General Election Ballot. Since I couldn’t actually be in my home town to participate in the caucus event, I’ve spent my time supporting a candidate, by campaigning and speaking at Assemblies since that time. The irony has been the number of candidates who skip the Assemblies and petition onto the ballot.

Say what?

The Caucus, Assembly, Primary process of election has a purpose. So what’s this about petitioning onto the ballot?

Tom Weins, a candidate for US Senate opted prior to the first Assemblies, due to the caucus response to his candidacy to petition onto the ballot. Okay, so he’s really not so popular anywhere other than his hometown, and the majority of those folks would give him up for naught… so no surprise there.

Jane Norton, another candidate for US Senate waited until after several of the BIG assemblies (those city functions with high numbers) and opted out of the caucus process and into the process of petitioning onto the ballot.

Quite honestly, neither of these candidates has much going for them on the ticket. Weins offers a life long history of spouse abuse, bad business judgment and temperamental tantrums, but he’ll do about anything for money. Can you imagine dealing with that in Washington? Norton is a tag along, holding onto Bill Owen’s shirt tails, hoping to snag votes due to name recognition, although she just simply can’t quite get into the act of “Showing Up”. Her antics of non-voting, non-disclosure, and n0n-revelation are hardly a welcome choice after Mr. Hope & Change’s failure at Accountability and Transparency. Perhaps we should leave Tom Weins at home to keep his wife in line as long as she’ll tolerate him, and send Jane Norton back to Washington in her Lobbyist Wardrobe instead of wasting a vote on either of them in the election?

Colorado has a better choice. There are candidates who value the election process and are willing to go the distance with fiscally responsible campaigns, values and principles that will carry them to Washington, D.C. and the essential nerve to accomplish the task of speaking for the people.

Cleve Tidwell offers Colorado a solid, conservative choice. Check  your ballot for the man who understands how to balance a budget, show up, and vote the will of the People of Colorado.

Public Schools Promote Abortion?

Is it true that you sign a piece of paper at the beginning of the school year, allowing a public school nurse to encourage your daughters to have an abortion without your knowledge?

That innocent slip of paper you sign, allowing the public school nurse to give your child an aspirin, offers more rights to the school and takes away your right as a parent to know. Is there a problem with parents knowing when their children receive major medical intervention?

As a parent, I would want to know before my child was encouraged to get an abortion. There’s a little matter of options that should be considered. Every child should be given options, ALL the options. AS a parent, it’s my responsibility to protect my child from any procedure that might endanger him or her, without the interference of a school nurse, or guidance counselor. As a parent, it’s my responsibility to give my children options and share values relevant choices with my child to help him or her make decisions about their lives.

There’s something wrong with a public school official exempting the parent from the knowledge that a child is pregnant. The parent has the responsibility for caring for the child and a reason to know. There are on going issues after an abortion and the parents NEED to be aware of any medical procedures on the child.

In the case of a 15 year old student being advised that the financial issues of an abortion would be taken care of if the child kept information from the parents about the abortion, something is wrong. Whatever happened to no public funding of an abortion? Whatever happened to the parental rights/responsibilities for their children?

When did it become okay for a publicly funded entity to provide a public funded abortion to children without the knowledge or consent of the parents?

Is it enough to implicate that the parents may be abusive if they find out about an abortion? Isn’t that rather redundant?

Those of us sitting around the coffee clatter discussing this issue would like to know the answers to these questions. Please, feel free to leave a message with your response to this issue. We’d like to know.

Health Care Bill Passed – Now What?

Facebook is buzzing.

The conservative right v the liberal left and nobody understands the purpose of the bill, according to Barry or BHo. No matter which side of this bill you’re on, it will ultimately affect your health care. Those who believe they can maintain their private health care should take a hard look at what that will cost in the future and how they’ll manage to make the grade.

Trevor Down, candidate for U.S. Senate from Arkansas, says, “Somewhere in the next few minutes a child will be born in this country and before it takes it first breath, it will owe it very existance and well being for the rest of his or her life to a system mandated by 535 people in Congress. Half of which have a net worth of a million dollars or more. That child’s birthright is to forever be a part of a system of social collective with no freedom.”

And then, I read a Quote on another friend’s facebook page, “First: Congratulations to President Obama and the Democratic leadership. You won dirty against bipartisan opposition from both Congress and the majority of Americans. You’ve definitely polarized the country even more, and quite possibly bankrupted us, too. But hey, you won. Bubbly for everyone.” by Jonah Goldberg. So, I started laughing.

Is the health care bill funny? Not even a little.

What is funny is that the people of the United States in their infinite wisdom elected a man who set out from the beginning of his political career to segregate the masses, divide the people and destroy liberty and freedom as we’ve known it, forever. And, he’s doing one mighty fine job of it!

Success, ultimately, is having a goal and attaining the goal you’ve set before yourself to attain. Barry is attaining his goal of destroying the United States. What a leader! Or wait, leader — um, no, he doesn’t qualify as a leader.

A leader stands before the crowd, accountable for his actions. Is Barry accountable for his actions? No. Not even a little. By the time his actions have destroyed the people of the United States, generations to come, he’ll be long gone.

By using his proxy to vote the will of the people (his version of the will of the people), he’s managed to turn all Insurance Companies into Government Contractors. He’s generated new jobs by way of16,500 new IRS agents who will be hired to enforce the mandatory payment of insurance premiums. Meanwhile, he’s created a vacuum within the insurance industry, sucking accountability and profits out of the industry and ultimately creating a dysfunctional business entity that will require limitation and more government controls. So, what can we do to change this paradigm?

November 2010 is another election. We can’t vote Barry out of office, his position is secure for another two years (unless we eject him by impeachment). But we can eradicate the Congress and Senate of the majority of his tag-a-longs. We can vote the democratic majority out of office and elect responsible conservative candidates who will vote the ACTUAL will of the people instead of doggedly following Barry down the short trail to doom on bribes and pork belly kickbacks at the cost of more tax payer money.

Coverup in Weld County?

The coffee shop is all abuzz over recent events in Weld County. We’ve heard Gubernatorial Candidate Dan Maes‘ daughter, Jordan, was picked up with a DUI in Weld County. But U.S. Senatorial Candidate, Ken Buck, is the D.A. in Weld County and the case appears to have disappeared off the records. An explanation would be nice…

When asked about this particular arrest… will the officer in charge be swept away quietly as were the records, or will there be a quick dance of explanation to eradicate the issue? Is Weld County D.A. guilty of covering up an arrest record and possible criminal charges for the daughter of a fellow Republican Candidate? Is this the new “Weld Gate”? Will there be tapes, shredded documents and DEEP THROAT to contend with, during this election year?

It’s only Colorado…

But, during a year when races of minor stature raise high the yellow flags of democracy coming to a swift and painful end, if the people can’t trust conservative candidates, who can they trust?

When asked why they voted for Ken Buck, many caucus attendees stated, “We don’t know Ken, but his wife has been highly visible in the Republican Party in Colorado for the past decade. We voted for him because of her.” Name recognition counts, but will the haste of voting for a candidate on behalf of his reputable spouse hurt the Colorado win for the Republican Party? Will there be irreparable damage to the party due to the behavior of a candidate, or TWO candidates? Or rather the daughter of a candidate?

If Jordan Maes is guilty of driving under the influence, why is she not paying the consequences of her actions?

That’s the latest on the coffee shop front… Pass the latte, please.

Public Health Care Generates Problems

In case you’re not aware of the difficulties of having a single payer system, I’d like to share some important details with you.

On January 5th a baby was born to a single mom who had worked full time and had Kaiser Insurance. She went into the hospital numerous times with pre-term labor and was treated like a princess. The hospital staff invited her to stay overnight (less than 24 hours) on their insurance rates with no additional co-pays, and kept her in style each time she was there. When the time came to deliver, she ended up choosing a C-Section due to specific concerns. Those concerns were addressed and met with the utmost care and the royal treatment continued throughout her visit there.

On March 5th her sister arrived in the mid morning hours, in full labor. At noon, 4 cm dilated, she was sent home and told to come back when her pains were less than 2 minutes apart or her water had broken. Frustrated and confused, she struggled to walk out of the hospital and get in the vehicle. In tears, she asked why she had to go home. The only answer she was given at that point was, “you don’t want to pay hospital charges for several days of labor, and it could be several more days. First babies are always late.”

Insurance for the second Mommy was Medicaid. Married for more nearly two years, she’d been working and carried her own insurance, as well as her husband carrying insurance. She left her job early in the pregnancy due to morning sickness and the severe strain her job put her in, due to not having independent transportation. Her husband attempted to add her to his insurance and was told the next open enrollment was February 2010. She was denied coverage until then. Because she had been denied coverage, she was eligible for the “Public Option” currently known as Medicaid.

Just over three hours later, we headed back to the hospital. Her labor pains were still between three and four minutes apart, sometimes lasting the entire three or four minutes.

When we arrived, the nurse checked her and said she was at 6 cm. She was immediately taken up stairs to labor and delivery. She requested the whirlpool and was allowed to use it for the next phase of labor. Within minutes the bath water began to turn slightly green. Mirconium in the bath water meant her water had broken and the baby had experienced stress earlier in the day. The midwife was asked if sending her home at 4 cm would cause that kind of stress, and she answered, “Anything that causes Mom to worry and feel stressed, stresses the baby.”

One hour and seventeen minutes later, she delivered the baby. She’d felt rushed, pushed, and frustrated during the day, earlier when she was at the hospital and later when she arrived back. The delivery went well, considering her high levels of stress, and the stress on the baby. She was an amazing new Mom.

Afterward, she was moved to the Mom & Baby ward and they put her in a far back corner away from the nurses station. Her husband was staying with her, so no problem, she’d have plenty of help — or so we thought.

Night one went fairly well. Then along came breakfast. An omelet that looked really nasty and smelled worse. She declined, but her husband decided after a while to go ahead and eat the omelet. About twelve hours later, he was massively ill and finally collapsed about two in the morning. The baby awakened and his wife needed help, so she called out to him, eventually getting him awake enough to call the nurse. The nurse said she’d be there shortly…. But she never showed up. No pain killers until after 8 AM the next day. No help with the baby. No contact for more than eight hours. Mom needed assistance, was in major pain, and baby needed care. Nothing for eight hours in a hospital. A newborn baby was neglected in the hospital, by hospital staff.

When the husband confronted the issue early the next morning, he got a cold shower and again, no responses for his wife. They were later dismissed from the hospital and had to wait on a wheel chair.

Is the care from public paid health care really going to be this much lower quality than private health care? I’m betting YES.

2012 Global Green – The Eradication of Poverty

Are you ready? It’s coming in 2012 – whether you’re ecologically savvy or not, if  we don’t stop this NOW, it will happen.

I am all for good stewardship of the resources the Lord has given us, but the devil is in the details and this situation is UGLY. Leaked UN document: The population HAS outstripped the available resources to be sustainable, therefore the UN will establish a global government by 2012 and begin the process of “poverty eradication,” but not before they tax you $1 trillion dollars a year for the next 40 years to establish a fund from which they will without election govern you. Though historical analysis proves that climate change is the natural process of the Earth, the facts are completely irrelevant to this cult who have written in stone they are going to murder 92% of the earth’s population to save a planet that doesn’t need saving. It doesn’t have to happen, and it won’t, but how far will they get before you wake up and open your mouth? If you allow them, they will kill 92% of the people on your friends list, family included. How did Malcom X put it, “By the ballot or the bullet?” We retain the power of the ballot for a couple years so USE it! Yes to research to do better, down with subjecting ourselves to unelected, international, sociopathic, Marxists that love trees and money more than their fellow man.

If you’re still thinking ecologically astute, you might want to do more research. Living green won’t prevent the planet from warming up, there are bigger fish at work in the planetary sea. I’m not really big on dooms day messages, and I’m not telling you that there’s some superhuman god at work here getting ready to destroy the planet. What I am telling you is that we’ve allowed leaders to come to power who have NO GOOD INTENT, and will do us harm if they’re allowed to continue as leaders in the free world. We must act on the information we now have, to prevent further action against the people on this planet.

I’m one vote, but I can influence many votes, given opportunity. I have a solid network of people surrounding me who will listen. I’m telling you now, that we must stand up and make a difference during this election year to prevent the atrocities that are coming. If not, we have no one but ourselves to blame.

Speak out, today! Let Freedom Ring.

Huckabee, Constitution & Grass Roots

The states are still sovereign. That’s the basis of the Tea Party movement that keeps rocking the United States. Since Richard Nixon, there’s been an upsurge in grass roots people who understand the purpose of getting back to our ROOTS – the Constitution.

While Huckabee whispers his wisdom across the air waves, the people of the United States quietly gather to shout their support of the fundamental foundation of our country. The Constitution has stood strong and true for more than 200 years, and there’s no reason to change it now. The fundamental principles are still as sound today as they were when the document was written.

So, why is the federal government [current administration] so stealthily determined to CHANGE what has worked for so long and still stands as a solid code of conduct for government?

President Obama stood before the people and promised no increase in taxes for people who make under $250K per year. But he can’t stand by that promise. He’s planning the Grandfather of all Tax Increases.

Where do the solutions come from? Americans are tired of failed campaign promises and lost funding, national debt and insincere politicians. Huckabee offers solutions, but his solutions lack sustenance and power. As a spokesperson, Huckabee feeds the source of frustration, giving solutions that would work, but aren’t working (because they can’t be implemented with the current administration).

The tax increase, as well as the debt, could be ended in a minute if our political leaders would simply follow the constitution and do as they’re supposed to be doing, instead of spending us into massive federal debt and killing off our children with the weight of financial overload.

At a recent Tea Party, attendees held up signs purporting their viewpoints and objectives, proclaiming that they want the Constitution back in power. Without it, as a nation, we crumble. With it, we thrive, our National Gross Product will increase and paying off the debt will be a no brainer.

Grass Roots voters have an option. In Colorado, grass roots voters have Cleve Tidwell, the only conservative candidate for U.S. Senate running on the Republican Ticket. Tidwell understands the purpose of following the Constitution and knows how to generate wealth for a nation in economic crisis. He’s prepared to lead and stand on principles and values that have served America well in the past and will serve us well in the future.

Where’s Huckabee’s endorsement of this solid core candidate?

Colorado Grads Need Remedial Help

Article Discussion: Nearly one in three Colo. graduates need remedial help in college
by Father OMalley

I spend at least an hour every night teaching my 8 and 11 year old the school work they should be learning during the day.

Public schools are literally experimenting with our children.

Instead of using tried and true methods of teaching math, that has over a 3000 year history of teaching, are now “conceptualizing” math problems.

Case in point: learning algebraic formula notation vs vertical notation for adding and subtracting. The teachers say, “Since higher math uses a horizontal rule of notation, we teach your child early to do this instead of waiting until a later grade. ”

I respond that the simple addition, subtraction, division and multiplication is better taught in the beginning using vertical notation because logically it is more understandable to a young mind when placed in vertical columns. Think bank book register and spreadsheets.

My children should be able to add subtract their check book before they learn algebraic notation. Their whole class falls behind “expectations” in the beginning of every year. Then they must do extra work to catch up.

My daughter is constantly amazed at how little notation she must do using “dad’s” way rather than the school’s. The school teaches her to put numbers in tables or in a confusing area of curved arrows pointing to numbers, instead of normal columns. This has confused her since 2 nd grade.

History? My daughter when 8 came home saddened and asked “Why are white people mean?” She had been studying Martin Luther King and civil rights.

I told her that our civil rights movement is a shining proof that a free nation evolves faster than nations that have less freedom. I told her that over 6 million Americans, most white, died in our Civil War to free those in slavery.

We should be proud that we evolved, not ashamed that we had to.

I then pointed that Africans had practiced slavery through conquering tribes, much like the American Indian for centuries prior to the first white settlement in either country. This was routine for conquering tribes since the beginning of civilization. I also said that there is still slavery in parts of Africa and the Middle East today. I told her that all “races” and I do put those in quotes when talking, have shown an extraordinary amount of cruelty to the innocent.

Given this perspective she can hold her country up as a shining example not something to be ashamed of. Western European culture has been a central element in raising every human’s freedoms to prosper to a new higher level than ever before.

Unlike from her public school teachers, she got the “RRRReesst of the story”.

I could give other examples. Needless to say, I am seriously contemplating home schooling these two as a did my two oldest.

They benefitted from home schooling more than public schools. How do I know this?

Each returned to High School in their junior year.
They would come home and smile saying how they “aced” another test. They said they already knew the math, history, english and geography while studying with dad.
What better way to make a dad proud?

I am not surprised at the finding of children needing “remedial” help.
Socialism truly cannot help those in need, it only brings more into need.

Whenever you lower expectations to “be fair”, you lower the entire society.
Our schools are a direct reflection of our failure to hold the progressives to 0 gain in our daily lives.

Want to change things?
To change things, you must change the laws.
To change the laws, you must change who makes them.
For your candidate to win, he must be on the ballot.

Organize your neighborhood, and attend caucus. You do have a voice.

www.fatheromalley.com

*****

As a home school mom, myself, I would encourage you to visit Father OMalley’s page and get involved in the caucus action this voting season. We must stand up and make a difference or our children will have no choices left. Vote for a conservative candidate and make a difference this year.
