Public Schools Promote Abortion?

Is it true that you sign a piece of paper at the beginning of the school year, allowing a public school nurse to encourage your daughters to have an abortion without your knowledge?

That innocent slip of paper you sign, allowing the public school nurse to give your child an aspirin, offers more rights to the school and takes away your right as a parent to know. Is there a problem with parents knowing when their children receive major medical intervention?

As a parent, I would want to know before my child was encouraged to get an abortion. There’s a little matter of options that should be considered. Every child should be given options, ALL the options. AS a parent, it’s my responsibility to protect my child from any procedure that might endanger him or her, without the interference of a school nurse, or guidance counselor. As a parent, it’s my responsibility to give my children options and share values relevant choices with my child to help him or her make decisions about their lives.

There’s something wrong with a public school official exempting the parent from the knowledge that a child is pregnant. The parent has the responsibility for caring for the child and a reason to know. There are on going issues after an abortion and the parents NEED to be aware of any medical procedures on the child.

In the case of a 15 year old student being advised that the financial issues of an abortion would be taken care of if the child kept information from the parents about the abortion, something is wrong. Whatever happened to no public funding of an abortion? Whatever happened to the parental rights/responsibilities for their children?

When did it become okay for a publicly funded entity to provide a public funded abortion to children without the knowledge or consent of the parents?

Is it enough to implicate that the parents may be abusive if they find out about an abortion? Isn’t that rather redundant?

Those of us sitting around the coffee clatter discussing this issue would like to know the answers to these questions. Please, feel free to leave a message with your response to this issue. We’d like to know.

Health Care Bill Passed – Now What?

Facebook is buzzing.

The conservative right v the liberal left and nobody understands the purpose of the bill, according to Barry or BHo. No matter which side of this bill you’re on, it will ultimately affect your health care. Those who believe they can maintain their private health care should take a hard look at what that will cost in the future and how they’ll manage to make the grade.

Trevor Down, candidate for U.S. Senate from Arkansas, says, “Somewhere in the next few minutes a child will be born in this country and before it takes it first breath, it will owe it very existance and well being for the rest of his or her life to a system mandated by 535 people in Congress. Half of which have a net worth of a million dollars or more. That child’s birthright is to forever be a part of a system of social collective with no freedom.”

And then, I read a Quote on another friend’s facebook page, “First: Congratulations to President Obama and the Democratic leadership. You won dirty against bipartisan opposition from both Congress and the majority of Americans. You’ve definitely polarized the country even more, and quite possibly bankrupted us, too. But hey, you won. Bubbly for everyone.” by Jonah Goldberg. So, I started laughing.

Is the health care bill funny? Not even a little.

What is funny is that the people of the United States in their infinite wisdom elected a man who set out from the beginning of his political career to segregate the masses, divide the people and destroy liberty and freedom as we’ve known it, forever. And, he’s doing one mighty fine job of it!

Success, ultimately, is having a goal and attaining the goal you’ve set before yourself to attain. Barry is attaining his goal of destroying the United States. What a leader! Or wait, leader — um, no, he doesn’t qualify as a leader.

A leader stands before the crowd, accountable for his actions. Is Barry accountable for his actions? No. Not even a little. By the time his actions have destroyed the people of the United States, generations to come, he’ll be long gone.

By using his proxy to vote the will of the people (his version of the will of the people), he’s managed to turn all Insurance Companies into Government Contractors. He’s generated new jobs by way of16,500 new IRS agents who will be hired to enforce the mandatory payment of insurance premiums. Meanwhile, he’s created a vacuum within the insurance industry, sucking accountability and profits out of the industry and ultimately creating a dysfunctional business entity that will require limitation and more government controls. So, what can we do to change this paradigm?

November 2010 is another election. We can’t vote Barry out of office, his position is secure for another two years (unless we eject him by impeachment). But we can eradicate the Congress and Senate of the majority of his tag-a-longs. We can vote the democratic majority out of office and elect responsible conservative candidates who will vote the ACTUAL will of the people instead of doggedly following Barry down the short trail to doom on bribes and pork belly kickbacks at the cost of more tax payer money.

Coverup in Weld County?

The coffee shop is all abuzz over recent events in Weld County. We’ve heard Gubernatorial Candidate Dan Maes‘ daughter, Jordan, was picked up with a DUI in Weld County. But U.S. Senatorial Candidate, Ken Buck, is the D.A. in Weld County and the case appears to have disappeared off the records. An explanation would be nice…

When asked about this particular arrest… will the officer in charge be swept away quietly as were the records, or will there be a quick dance of explanation to eradicate the issue? Is Weld County D.A. guilty of covering up an arrest record and possible criminal charges for the daughter of a fellow Republican Candidate? Is this the new “Weld Gate”? Will there be tapes, shredded documents and DEEP THROAT to contend with, during this election year?

It’s only Colorado…

But, during a year when races of minor stature raise high the yellow flags of democracy coming to a swift and painful end, if the people can’t trust conservative candidates, who can they trust?

When asked why they voted for Ken Buck, many caucus attendees stated, “We don’t know Ken, but his wife has been highly visible in the Republican Party in Colorado for the past decade. We voted for him because of her.” Name recognition counts, but will the haste of voting for a candidate on behalf of his reputable spouse hurt the Colorado win for the Republican Party? Will there be irreparable damage to the party due to the behavior of a candidate, or TWO candidates? Or rather the daughter of a candidate?

If Jordan Maes is guilty of driving under the influence, why is she not paying the consequences of her actions?

That’s the latest on the coffee shop front… Pass the latte, please.

Public Health Care Generates Problems

In case you’re not aware of the difficulties of having a single payer system, I’d like to share some important details with you.

On January 5th a baby was born to a single mom who had worked full time and had Kaiser Insurance. She went into the hospital numerous times with pre-term labor and was treated like a princess. The hospital staff invited her to stay overnight (less than 24 hours) on their insurance rates with no additional co-pays, and kept her in style each time she was there. When the time came to deliver, she ended up choosing a C-Section due to specific concerns. Those concerns were addressed and met with the utmost care and the royal treatment continued throughout her visit there.

On March 5th her sister arrived in the mid morning hours, in full labor. At noon, 4 cm dilated, she was sent home and told to come back when her pains were less than 2 minutes apart or her water had broken. Frustrated and confused, she struggled to walk out of the hospital and get in the vehicle. In tears, she asked why she had to go home. The only answer she was given at that point was, “you don’t want to pay hospital charges for several days of labor, and it could be several more days. First babies are always late.”

Insurance for the second Mommy was Medicaid. Married for more nearly two years, she’d been working and carried her own insurance, as well as her husband carrying insurance. She left her job early in the pregnancy due to morning sickness and the severe strain her job put her in, due to not having independent transportation. Her husband attempted to add her to his insurance and was told the next open enrollment was February 2010. She was denied coverage until then. Because she had been denied coverage, she was eligible for the “Public Option” currently known as Medicaid.

Just over three hours later, we headed back to the hospital. Her labor pains were still between three and four minutes apart, sometimes lasting the entire three or four minutes.

When we arrived, the nurse checked her and said she was at 6 cm. She was immediately taken up stairs to labor and delivery. She requested the whirlpool and was allowed to use it for the next phase of labor. Within minutes the bath water began to turn slightly green. Mirconium in the bath water meant her water had broken and the baby had experienced stress earlier in the day. The midwife was asked if sending her home at 4 cm would cause that kind of stress, and she answered, “Anything that causes Mom to worry and feel stressed, stresses the baby.”

One hour and seventeen minutes later, she delivered the baby. She’d felt rushed, pushed, and frustrated during the day, earlier when she was at the hospital and later when she arrived back. The delivery went well, considering her high levels of stress, and the stress on the baby. She was an amazing new Mom.

Afterward, she was moved to the Mom & Baby ward and they put her in a far back corner away from the nurses station. Her husband was staying with her, so no problem, she’d have plenty of help — or so we thought.

Night one went fairly well. Then along came breakfast. An omelet that looked really nasty and smelled worse. She declined, but her husband decided after a while to go ahead and eat the omelet. About twelve hours later, he was massively ill and finally collapsed about two in the morning. The baby awakened and his wife needed help, so she called out to him, eventually getting him awake enough to call the nurse. The nurse said she’d be there shortly…. But she never showed up. No pain killers until after 8 AM the next day. No help with the baby. No contact for more than eight hours. Mom needed assistance, was in major pain, and baby needed care. Nothing for eight hours in a hospital. A newborn baby was neglected in the hospital, by hospital staff.

When the husband confronted the issue early the next morning, he got a cold shower and again, no responses for his wife. They were later dismissed from the hospital and had to wait on a wheel chair.

Is the care from public paid health care really going to be this much lower quality than private health care? I’m betting YES.
