Would you please site the original article source from which you quote and also, what part of the bill this area of ‘detainment’ is located? I’ve scanned the bill and simply got a headache from the inundation of military jargon!

My comment is about the student in the situation addressed in this post. I have personally known this young man in question for over 4 years, and I know his Mother. He is an intelligent, HONEST, hard-working person who would no sooner even contemplate cheating than step off a cliff. His ideals, morals and goals are exemplary – particularly for his young adult years. I would trust my life with Sean. That he has had to deal with the abuse and apparent misconduct of this teacher is unforgivable and certainly a negative mark on the integrity of Arapahoe Community College.

I attended this school and thoroughly enjoyed my 2 semesters there in the 1970′s.I truly hope that this particular professor is quickly removed from her position.

I am not a person to attack or quickly judge anyone. But in this particular situation, I have followed Sean’s struggle to keep his credibility and integrity through the unreasonable and at times, vilifying behavior towards him from this teacher.

I encountered a similar situation in my workplace 20 years ago, that negatively and permanently changed my life; I understand the politics involved. They are appalling, at best.

I will continue to follow this situation to see if the President of Arapahoe Community College and the channels available to support students who become victims of this type of unacceptable instructor behavior, come to Sean’s defense. If not, I hope he takes legal action.

This young man deserves no less than a full apology from the Dean and President and full re-instatement to his program. The rest of his life is at stake.

This seems a bit over the top. The instructor properly eliminated a couple of excess words and then mistakenly eliminated an important verb. That was a mistake; however, it doesn’t support the headline. What happened doesn’t speak to her knowledge of grammar so much as the care she took in reading the paper.

This is truly a sad state of affairs IF this is true. Unfortunately I do know of teachers who are capable of this kind of behavior.

However my objection to this post is that there isn’t sufficient back-up to substantiate it – you say this is the chatter around the campus – is it in school newspapers, are there petitions being signed, is there more than this one student in conflict with this teacher? What is the exact claim of discrimination?

Again, I have seen teachers abuse their positions so I believe this CAN be true, however if this post can raise doubts then it can also hurt the student’s plight.

I hope that the real story is made known and if the teacher is at fault that the powers that be at the college act appropriately.

Please understand, I do not know the teacher or the student, I would just like enough information to form an educated opinion. Thanks.
